Born and raised on the island of Oahu, Hawai'i, Emi Hart grew up entering random talent shows that she'd find in the local newspaper and billboards at school. Although she had no formal vocal training as a child, from the age of six she always knew she loved being on stage and fearlessly found every opportunity possible to share her talents through song via the school choir, pageants and musicals. She's still not sure if she was brave, or just too young and naive to be phased by crushing losses or stage fright. Although she never won a single talent show, her love of performing never withered and only magnified with each moment in the limelight. She discovered songwriting in her adult years and became obsessed with creative melding together stories from her life with melodies from her heart. From her first handful of songs, Emi released her debut EP “Robot Man,” a pop/folk project in 2017.
In 2018, Emi was chosen to be part of the Creative Lab songwriting immersive, a five-day intensive program focused on providing participants with the opportunity to co-write and produce music for specific film or TV projects with a team of professional mentors. Emi is a co-writer of Gold Brother's "Keep On Rising," which was written at the 2018 Creative Lab Hawaii Songwriting Camp, and was featured in a trailer for the new CBS Series, All Rise.
She is currently working on writing songs for her a new pop/soul project to be released in 2020. In each song she writes, Emi reveals to her listeners, the power of authentic truth and shares revelations from her own life, which she hopes will give others the courage to share their truth with the world.
Emi is also the Honolulu Community Manager for popular social media website and mobile app, Yelp. Considered a Hawaii food influencer, she’s spent the last ten years cultivating the Yelp community and connecting consumers with great local businesses. You can watch her twice weekly on ABC affiliate KITV4 Island News on Tuesday evenings where she’s featured on the “Local Yelp” segment as well as on Sunday mornings featuring Hawaii businesses and events.
In her personal life, Emi is married to her husband Michael, and is the proud mother of three amazing children: Aidan, Madeline and Isabel. In her free time she enjoys strength training, yoga, geeking out over productivity and personal development, and watching Friday night fireworks with her family on Waikiki beach.
